Overview
Besides Spanish which is Mexico's official language there are about 62 further discovered indigenous languages. People who speak English won't have any problems to understand and to be understood because nowadays the major part of the Mexican Citizens have at least basic English skills. Particularly in tourist regions you can barely find Mexicans who don't speak English.
Even though speaking English can be enough to be understood it is always advantageous to have a few basic skills in Spanish; It makes you vacation more comfortable and Mexican people do really appreciate that!
