You also visit the colorful colonial city San Cristobal de las Casas, the surrounding traditional Indian villages and Palenque, the most impressive Mayan archeological excavation of Central America.

Day 1: Tuxtla Gutiérrez - Canyon del Sumidero - San Cristóbal  [Up]

We pick you up at the Tuxtla airport or the bus station before you visit the famous and impressive Canyon del Sumidero, which counts 1000 meters at its highest point. There you enjoy an exciting boat tour through the canyon where an exotic world of flora and fauna is waiting for you. Afterwards you go to the colonial village Chiapa del Corzo where you can visit the beautiful church and still have enough time to enjoy your lunch. From Chiapa del Corzo you continue your tour to San Cristobal de las Casas. Overnight stay.
 

Day 2: City Tour & Indigenous Communities  [Up]

After breakfast you take part in a city tour in San Cristobal de las Casas and visit the colorful market, the Santo Domingo Church and the Cathedral. Then you visit the Indian villages San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan where you receive an impression of the authentic customs and lifestyle of the Tzotzilen and Tseltales who are still living an autonomous and traditional life. Moreover you visit their church and a house of a traditional family where you can taste the home-made drink "Posh". After an original indigenous lunch with the family you go back to San Cristobal. Overnight stay.
 

Day 3: Lagos de Montebello & El Chiflón  [Up]

In the early morning you start for Amate Nango del Valle, a typical Mayan-Tzeltal village which is famous for its Pottery Arts. Afterwards you keep going to the nature reserve of the Lagoons of Montebello where you see five of more than fifty lagoons. After having lunch you continue your tour to El Chiflon, the highest and most beautiful waterfall of Chiapas with an altitude of 80 meters. Here you can have a refreshing bath in the cristal clear water before you go back to San Cristobal de las Casas. Overnight stay.
 

Day 4: Tonina - Agua Azul - Misol Ha & Palenque  [Up]

After breakfast you go to Ocasingo to visit the ruins of Tonina which once was one of the most powerful Mayan Cities. Then your tour continues with a trip to the beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul where you can enjoy a refreshing bath in the turquoise shimmering water. Here you also have lunch before you visit the next impressive waterfall Misol Ha, which has been scenery for several Hollywood movies. Afterwards you go to Palenque. Overnight stay.
 

Day 5: Palenque - Villahermosa  [Up]

Palenque, Villahermosa
After breakfast you visit the famous archeological exvacation of Palenque which though it isn't the biggest, it surely is the most beautiful and most important discovered Mayan city because of its architectural fantasy and harmony in the middle of its tropical scenery. After lunch we bring you to Villahermosa to your hotel, the airport or the bus station, depending on how your tour continues.
