Artistic Villages around Oaxaca (Fridays only)

In the morning you are, according to your arrival, picked up at the bus terminal or your hotel and you are going to visit artistic villages in the surroundings of Oaxaca City. Your first stop will be the lovely village called Ocotlan. A unique spectacle is the enormous weekly market on Fridays.  Since the prehispanic time, vendors of the whole region have been gathering together selling a wide range of various products on the central place. This market barely changed with the centuries and still preserves a charming and authentic atmosphere. After you experienced this stunning market, the tour leads you to Coyotepec, a graceful village 11 km to the South of Ocotlan. The village is known for its sensational black fired and polished potteries, which are sold in the entire country. There our guide takes you to the pottery Alfareria Doña Rosa, where Don Valante, the son of the founders, welcomes you to the family enterprise. Don Valante will show you around and introduce you to the art of pottery. He will give you a worthwhile insight in the history of his family and their passionate relationship to this profession. Afterwards you are, according to further course of your trip, brought to your hotel, the airport or the bus terminal.
