Izamal
Buenos Dias Mexico

In the morning you are, according to your arrival, picked up at the bus terminal or your hotel and you drive towards the beautiful colonial city Izamal, which lays at about half of the way from Mérida to Chichen Itza. The city was well known for almost a dozen pyramids, but nowadays, it's famous for the many cozy ochre-colored buildings. That's why Izamal is called the yellow city. The main attractions are the impressive Kinich-Kakmó-Pyramid and the amazing monastery Convento Antonio Padua, which is the biggest one in Yucatan. People assume that the Spanish occupants built the monastery in 1533 as a reaction of the many Maya buildings in the area. After the sightseeing tour you return back to Mérida. According to the further course of your trip, you are brought to your hotel, the airport or the bus terminal.
This daytrip can also be booked with a German- or English-speaking private guide at an extra charge.
