During this 5-day trip through Chiapas you get to know all highlights that this state has to offer. Besides of the famous Canyon del Sumidero, the waterfalls Misol Ha and Agua Azul you also visit the 200 metres high waterfall "El Chiflón" and the beautiful Lagunas de Montebello, that are located right at the border to Guatemala. You wil also discover the colourful colonial city of an Cristóbal de las Casas and the surrounding traditional Indian villages as well as the world famous archaeoloogical site of Palenque, which is one of the most impressing ones in Central America.

1. Day: Tuxtla Gutierrez - Sumidero & San Cristóbal

We pick you up at the Tuxtla airport or the bus station before you visit the famous and impressive Canyon del Sumidero, which counts at its highest point 1000 meters. There you enjoy an exciting boat tour through the canyon where an exotic world of flora and fauna is waiting for you. Afterwards you go to the colonial village Chiapa del Corzo where you can visit the beautiful church and still have enough time to enjoy your lunch. From Chiapa del Corzo you continue your tour to San Cristobal de las Casas. Overnight stay.
2. Day: San Cristóbal de las Casas & Indigenous Communities

After breakfast you visit the Indian villages San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan where you receive an impression of the authentic customs and lifestyle of the Tzotziles and Tseltales who are still living an autonomous and traditional life. You visit the traditional and colourful church "Templo de San Juan" and visit a Tzoztzil family.In the afternoon you enjoy a city tour in San Cristobal de las Casas and visit the most important sights and the colorful market. Overnight stay.
3. Day: Lagos de Montebello & El Chiflon

Early in the morning you head for Amate Nango del Valle, a typical Maya Tzeltal Village which is famous for its ceramic art. Afterwards you visit the nature reserve of Lagos de Montebello, where you can admire five of the more than 50 lakes, before we take you to the 80 metres high "El Chiflón", the biggest and maybe most beautiful waterfall of Chiapas. Here you can enjoy a refreshing bath in the crystal clear water, before you are brought back to San Cristóbal. Overnight stay.
4. Day: San Cristóbal - Agua Azul - Misol Ha & Palenque

In the early morning you visit the beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul. Here you shouldn't miss a refreshing bath in the turquoise shimmering water and the delicious taste of the famous Empanadas. Then your tour leads to the next impressive waterfall Misol Ha and to Palenque. The archaeological site of Palenque ist not the biggest one of the Mayan sites, but, due to the architectural phantasy and the unique backdrop of lush tropical rainforest, certainly one of the most impressing and most beautiful cities of the Mayan world. Overnight stay.
5. Day: Palenque - Villahermosa

After breakfast you are, according to your further itinerary, brought to your hotel, airport or bus terminal in Villahermosa.
