On this Mexico daytrip you explore the most enchanting waterfalls in Mexico Agua Azul and Misol Há. You also visit one of the most beautiful Mayan sites in Mexico, the ruins of Palenque.
Today you will be picked up very early in the morning from your hotel in Chiapas for a day filled with natural wonders and archaeological history. Drive through the mystical jungle which is still covered in early morning fog. After a short stop in Ocosingo for breakfast (included) you reach the magnificent waterfalls of Agua Azul. The bright turquoise waterfalls are a beautiful sight and you should not miss out on taking a refreshing dip in the cool water. Afterwards the tour continues to the waterfalls of Misol Há, which at its highest point reaches 40 meters. On a tiny, winding path, you can walk behind the water curtain created by the falls for a refreshing experience. Finally, the last stop of the day is the archaeological site of Palenque. It is not the biggest site in Mexico, but it is one of the most impressive as it is buried deep in dense jungle vegetation. The temples and pyramids are covered with vines and create a unique atmosphere. Climb the Templo de las Inscripciones for a spectacular view of the jungle canopy. Archaeologists estimate that there are still 1200 temples yet uncovered. In the late afternoon you will be brought to your hotel in Palenque.
Due to the political situation in Chiapas, this route may occasionally be blocked by the local population. As your safety is our main priority, depending on the situation that day, an alternative route may be chosen and the waterfalls won´t be visited. Thank you for your understanding.
