Horseback ride & Hike to Indigenous Villages

On this Mexico daytrip you explore the impressive mountain landscape of Chiapas on horseback and then you learn all about the living in the indigenous Mexican villages San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan.

Tour description:

In the morning you are picked up from your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas and taken to a nearby Ranch where your horseback riding adventure begins. Follow lovely, narrow trails that lead you through refreshing forests and picturesque landscapes towards San Juan Chamula. The village is famous for being the religious centre of the Tzotzils. In San Juan Chamula, you have time to stroll around and to get a better impression of the tradition and the customs of the indigenous people. After a short pause, the tour continues to Zinacantan on foot, where you can see how wool goods are woven and taste traditional drinks and dishes. In the afternoon, you will visit the village church and will be brought back to your hotel in San Cristóbal.
