When it gets particularly hot, Mexicans like to drink “Agua con sabor”, which consists of ice-cold water, natural fruit juice and sugar. We will show you how to prepare the popular AGUA DE JAMAICA from hibiscus flowers yourself.
Ingredients:
- 100 g sugar
- 10 g dried hibiscus flower
- ½ Lime
- easy to close bottles
Preparation:
Bring the sugar to a boil with half a liter of water and the hibiscus flowers and simmer gently for 5 minutes over low heat. Then remove from the stove and let steep for 10 minutes.
Filter the mixture through a sieve to catch the hibiscus flowers. Then start diluting the juice. Slowly add more and more cold water, depending on your taste, up to one liter.
Classic Mexican juice always has a bit of lime and your Agua de Jamaica is ready. Now fill the juice into bottles, close well and keep in the refrigerator. Agua de Jamaica is best served with ice cubes!
Buen Provecho!!
