This private Mexico daytrip leads along the Ruta Puuc, past numerous archaeological sites to Xlapak and further to Labná to the archway Arco de Labna.
Today you will be picked up by your private guide from your hotel in Mérida to discover the Puuc route. This leads south of Mérida and passes many interesting archaeological sites which give you a closer insight into the culture of the Puuc Maya. All of them have the architectural Puuc style which means hills. Your first stop of the day is the Sayil excavation site, where you should definitely visit the imposing Palacio with its approximately 85-meter-wide facade. Then the route continues to Xlapak and from there to Labná, whose magnificent archway “Arco de Labna” is particularly famous. The impressive Caves of Loltún are the last stop of the tour. This cave system was once used as a dwelling place and has extraordinary rock formations, stalagmites and stalagtites. The unusual paintings in the cave give an insight into the life of their former inhabitants. The total length of the cave is 8 to 10 km, but only 2 km have been explored so far. In the afternoon you will be returned to your hotel in Mérida.
