On this Mexico daytrip you lean all about the famous Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Visit the “blue house” and the Dolores Olmedo Museum.
In the morning you will be picked up at the hotel in Mexico City and drive to Coyoacán in the south of the city. Here you will find the house of the famous artist Frida Kahlo, who once lived and worked here. Today, the “blue house” is a museum in which some of Frida Kahlo’s originals and personal belongings are exhibited. You have about two hours to discover the museum before you enjoy a short tour in Coyoacán. Coyoacán is one of the most beautiful city dwellers and is known for its flowery streets and beautiful colonial buildings. A short stop in the church of San Juan Bautista should not be missed. In Coyoacán you finally have time for a short lunch break (not included) before the tour continues to the Anahuacalli Museum, where Diego Rivera’s most important works are exhibited. Learn about the importance of Diego’s art to the Mexican people and why he is considered one of the most important artists in the country. The last stop of the tour is the Casa Estudio, where the famous couple also lived and worked. This was Diego’s place of residence until his death. There you can admire many of the works of the two artists and get a deeper insight into the soul of the artists. You will then be brought back to the hotel where you will arrive around 17.00 PM.
Note: Since the museums in Mexico City are closed on Mondays, this excursion only takes place from Tuesday to Sunday.
