Monarch Butterflies in Valle de Bravo

On this Mexico daytrip you observe millions of beautiful monarch butterflies in Valle de Bravo.

Tour description

In the morning, you are picked up from your hotel in Mexico City and taken to the Nature Reserve of Piedra Herrada in Valle de Bravo. Every year beginning in October millions of monarch butterflies migrate from the USA and Canada to the pine forests of Michoacán and the state of Mexico, where they rest until March. Arriving at the Nature Reserve, you will explore by foot the beauty of these forests (OPTIONALLY: renting a horse is possible), stopping at the most beautiful view points to observe how the butterflies flutter in large swarms and conceal the pine trees with their multitudes. After this impressive natural wonder continue to Valle de Bravo, where you can have a relaxing lunch at the lake (optional). In the afternoon you are brought back to your hotel.

Note: This tour is only offered during the Monarch butterfly season from December to March.
